I've been listening to a lot of Teenage Fanclub in the past couple of months, trawling through parts of their catalogue I've never heard before. As good as their other records are, something always keeps me crawling back to Grand Prix.
The band's fifth album, released in 1995, Grand Prix is a consistently wonderful power pop album by some of the masters of the genre.
While it's way too hard to pick out my favourite song on the album, my favourite moment is undoubtedly the ending when Hardcore/Ballad transitions from the hardcore to the ballad, leaving us with one impossibly gorgeous minute.
